Today I am grateful for:
- Country music radio stations — lots of them, right there on the radio, anytime I’d like to hear some country. No waiting until Wednesday from 7-8pm, no half-humming tunes I can’t really remember in my head. I just press the button, and there is the country music. Press it again, and it’s gone. Press it again, and it’s back again any time I want. Magic!
- The fact that almost of all of my husband’s coworkers so far in our little adventure have been country music types, so he listens to it all day. Imagine my shock when my British husband began singing along to the radio and he knew all the words. Imagine my face when I turned on the radio in the kitchen and discovered he’d retuned it, of his own accord, to one of the country stations. Imagine my joy when he finally got what I’ve been telling him for years: country music has the best lyrics of any genre, ever.
- BBC Radio over the internet — for when, after feeding my long-neglected cravings to the full, I’ve had bloody enough of country.
