Today I am grateful for:
- A new friend — a real, live, flesh-and-blood friend. I joined an online group of local mothers awhile ago to get some local info, and last week I just went ahead put a post on there saying I needed to get out of the house and did anyone want to join me? One of the mothers did, and today we met up at a coffee shop for an hour — a kind of blind date — and had a really nice time. We got on well, the kids played, and we’ve agreed that next time, we’ll go to the local playground. After five months in the wilderness, I know someone now!!!
- The fact that when my head started to freak a little on the way home, and I began overanalysing the previous hour and wondering if she’d actually enjoyed my company as much as I’d enjoyed hers, I realised what I was doing and commanded myself to STOP — and I did.
- The two small miracles that today, when I had to push a pushchair loaded with two heavy babies up the steep hill into town, the temperature had dropped by about 20 degrees F from yesterday, and that, on the walk home, the threatening storm held off until literally the moment I was pushing them back up the driveway.
